Another Monday Morning

Another weekend gone another Monday morning.

Here's a little card I made over the weekend using Kirsty's Banana Frog stamping tutorial here.
I've stamped a little panel for inside too, as I'd used a dark gold card base.
All the patterned papers are Pink Paislee and the stamps are Banana Frog. The big corduroy brad is from a Snowman set.
I went walking with my sister yesterday. Apparently my dad was part of a group involved in the opening of a 35 mile walk called the Avon Valley Path, some when in the 1990's. It runs from the statue of the walking Madonna in the grounds of Salisbury Cathedral to the sea at Christchurch meeting up and following the river Avon. So a mad scheme has been hatched to walk the entire route in stages.

Yesterday was an experimental 1st stage to walk a short section to see if the paths were still open, how well signposted it was etc. The signposts were there, although quite hidden in places and my map reading skills were much praised although we did lose the path a couple of times!

We were walking over chalk downlands most of the way which had lovely views in which we were surprised to see a poppy field.
Lots of the other fields were bordered with poppies too.
Eventually, after taking a couple of wrong turns, we found our way down to the river (the Ebble in this case, the bit where we meet the Avon comes later).
As we walked across the final meadow to the point where we had agreed to finish there were wild orchids.
We called it a day at that point having walked 5 miles to complete a 3.5 mile section of the path, oops!!

Beautiful walk Kate - that field of poppies is a rare sight these days...remember what the fields on the 303 at what is now Solstice Park used to be like. Amazing.
Nice card - those stamp styles take me back!
